Grotta Palazzese is not like every other restaurant out there. It is built in the interior part of a cave from where you have an amazing view of the Adriatic Sea.
The restaurant is situated near the city Poligano a Mare in South Italy. Grotta Palazzese’s location is just 1.3 km from the Poligano A Mare station, 48km from Bari Airport, 83 km from Brindisi airport.
What is even more interesting is that there is also a hotel which is built at the edge of the cliff over the restaurant. That hotel is currently being renovated, but people’s favorite part – the summer restaurant – is still open. The summer restaurant stays open until mid-November.
That means that you can still visit the restaurant and have a nice dinner while you admire the beauty of the Adriatic Sea and the cliffs hanging above it which make up the restaurant.
This location has been inhabited since the Neolithic period and was once a Greek colony. It’s assumed that the restaurant was used since the 17th century when the local noble people gathered together for formal events.
Nowadays, in order to get a table with a view, you have to make a reservation a few months ahead. The tables are made for more than six people and you can make online reservation for groups of up to 10 people. Another thing you ought to know is that there is a dress code which requires guests to be dressed more elegantly. Flip flops and shorts are not allowed!
There are many comments on the Internet about the quality of the food and its price.
Don’t let that discourage you. There are always people that critic good thing because they crave attention.
We concluded that the fusion of the perfect, unique ambient, the spectacular view of the sea, the perfect food and the intimate music will make your night in Grotta Palazzese unforgettable.
